Digital Nation

We all learned about a section from the digital nation site. There was a lot of interesting information found on the site. Reece's section was Learning. Some major points that Reece brought up in his presentation was that video games can teach people, They also affect out focus, Video games are considered a source of online social entertainment that involves learning experiences and, we discover different aspects of ourselves. Outside of school we learn to collaborate, and, to use smart tools. Inside of school we learn how to doing everything solo, and where are own abilities will get use and, what level they are on. Persistence is almost dead now, people are so use to getting things handed to them while doing almost anything that they tend to no look any deeper then the surface of something because they assume that if its not on the surface then its not there at all. It was also said they we should teach the kids through their cell phones because most of them have a cell phone and are using one all the time.

I then listened to Dalton give his presentation on his subject from digital nation, Waging war. Some thing that the military is using video games to trick kids. They now have virtual training centers that help when training new soldiers because it comes as close as they can get it to a real experience. Now with predator drone pilots are going to work and coming home in time to eat dinner but he military depends so much on a predator drone pilot to do it job its make this job of extreme significance to the military.

Then there is my presentation over Living Faster. There are points in this like kids need to be connect to a internet source at all times, we need to know what happens the moment it happens. There was a video that also said that kids have a hard time making the distinction between real life and a simulation. It was said that student tend to work faster and more effectively when listening you music. Most people's attention spans have shortened over they years and now its a lot harder for us to focus on one thing rather then multitasking. It was said that the government is preparing us all for robots. Our brains develop depending on our surroundings and what we do regularly cause our knowledge on the subject of our focus to be high them that of items we tend to no focus on. Said why most teens have hard time doing math and English because its hard for use to focus on the subjects.

  1. As I finished reading through your blog, one thing that stuck out to me the most was the part that we should teach kids through cell phones. That shows you how young kids are getting cell phones. I didn't get my first cellphone until seventh grade. Nowadays you see fourth graders carrying cell phones.
